PROBLEM SOLUTION MARKETS TRACTION THE TEAM INVESTORS

BUILDING A BETTER WORLD SUPPLYING CLEAN, RENEWABLE POWER TO THOSE WHO HAVE NO ACCESS TO ELECTRICITY OR THOSE DEMANDING BETTER SERVICES.

PROBLEM

More than half of the world’s viable hydropower is untapped even though it is the biggest contributor to renewable energy provision.

Very low head hydro is hugely unexploited, with a growing interest in applicable devices for a range of productive energy applications.

Conventional hydro devices cannot provide effective ROIs in sites less than 3m head, a global underserved market.

SOLUTION

Our patented, modular construction, wet siting technology will instal quickly to exploit currently inaccessible hydro sites.

With predicted lower costs of energy / kilowatt hour than equivalent solar, wind or fossil fuel devices and savings of 40t CO2 emissions / year compared to equivalent diesel gensets.

MARKETS

Vienga estimates 15,000,000 units and growing with targeted sectors being:

  • off-grid rural Global South (including microgrids)
  • on-grid discharge/in-pipe Water Utilities & Factories EU / USA
  • off-Grid Domestic / Mill Sites
  • off-grid Mobile / Mining Camps
  • off-grid Schools / Hospitals

Our beachhead is off-grid productive power in East Africa (product one 5kW – 120kWh / day – 10kW peak) supporting economic growth in rural communities whilst offering rapid market ingress for an original product opening unexploited sales spaces.

Route to market through regional developer partners – already assembled in Kenya, Uganda, and Malawi – handling sales, installation, billing, after sales services and maintenance.

Once first sales are procured a second Vienga discharge / in-pipe product will be ready for any facility globally with water discharge / flows for energy recovery.

TRACTION

£400k spent mitigating technical risk including proof of concept, simulation, physical component testing and system design, with clear potential for further patents.

Two patents secured to date, complete concept design (product one) reviewed by third parties, power simulation tests (product one) completed to validate output at given heads/sizes, and new generator R&D (product two) underway.

Funding being raised to reach MVP stage and field test product one in Uganda with a local factory off-taker (see Kashari test site below) and accelerate product two R&D. Supply/test partners in place to commence Spring 2025.
